In addition, she has experience as a school counselor  and parent liaison in the public school system, making her familiar with the school-related difficulties facing children, including behavioral concerns, peer relationships, anxiety, and more. She has also worked for non-profits serving children with specific needs and as a psychotherapist in private practice.

Mrs. Burnsed is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Level I, EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) Level I, and as an independent facilitator of Becoming a Love and Logic Parent. She greatly values professional development and regularly pursues training, workshops and continuing education. She never stops seeking opportunities for professional growth in the areas of psychology, education, and other disciplines involved in the intervention of children and families.

Mrs. Burnsed finds her relationships with clients to be a crucial part of the healing process, and provides a safe and supportive environment for children and their families so they can feel heard and accepted. She works with compassion, empathy and authenticity to help guide individuals and families through life's challenges.

Mrs. Burnsed is a native of Florida who relocated to Colorado in 2001. In addition to her professional experience and education, she is active in several community organizations that support the role of parents and children in Boulder Valley.

In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, reading and spending time with her husband, two children and friends.

Mrs. Burnsed welcomes your inquiries about what you, your child and she can achieve working together to promote positive changes in your child’s self-esteem, sense of purpose and relationships both within and outside the home.
